Eye Awake takes the stage and starts things off.
I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, maybe I was expecting a metal band, or possibly a punk band.
They surprised me, straight up 90s alt rock.
With song titles like "concrete pillow case" and the hard/soft/hard that the Pixies and Nirvana made work so well. Comes natural to them, this is after all, what I suspect, they grew up listening too.
From what i've known of his previous projects, I don't think that Gill (the drummer) has ever played this slow, 90 - 120 bpm, in a band, before.
Solid gig, solid band, and quite a pleasant surprise. Eye Awake reminding me of what I loved about bands like Silverchair, and Filter, and oh so many others.
