Rhubarbs - If We Build It, You Will Come

Rhubarbs first record, pop punk from the arctic tundra.  Remember when Chixdiggit was putting out killer albums in the mid 90s? Well these guys do, all the passion and power of an early lagwagon/chixdiggit record, add in another 20 years of technological advances, a new skateboard, and your brand new white vinyl LP comes with a download code right from their label (Wasted Wax Record.)

Remember the first time that you heard "White Trash, Two Heebs, and a Bean" and how all you wanted to do was grab your skateboard and go thrash the streets? well "If We Build It, You Will Come" does that exact same thing for me.  Though these days its more i want to go try some front side grinds in a bowl.. but you get the idea.  This Edmonton trio has managed to present something new, while taking what they love and mixing it up a bit.  You can hear the influences from Motorhead, Black Sabbath, NoFX, Black Flag, Chixdiggit, and many more all coming through, but without sounding cliche and tired, instead they somehow manage to sound as though this is brand fucking new to your ears.

I guess what this all boils down to, is if you have a chance to snag this LP do it, and listen to it often.
to quote some Flipper liner notes "Listen for 45 minutes. 4 times daily or.. as needed. Caution: to be taken in conjunction with alcoholic beverages. At Maximum Volume"
